Apple announced the release of Apple Watch SE in its “Time Flies” event earlier today. The Watch SE was announced along with the release of Watch Series 6. The device is priced at $279 and can be pre-ordered starting today. It will be available from Friday, September 18 onwards with finance available for $12/mo-24months.
The Apple Watch SE succeeds Series 3 while retaining its key features. It includes workout tracker, sleep tracker, managing calls, face sharing, find people and other features. It also comes with a swim-proof chassis.
Apple has provided it with S5 chip which will greatly enhance its performance compared to the Apple Series 3.
The SE is Apple’s first dedicated Apple Watch in the affordable price segment. It is meant to compete with budget smartwatches. The Watch SE seems to have mimicked the design of Series 4 which was discontinued since the release of Series 5.
Available in two options: Bluetooth and cellular. It will run on watch OS 7.
