Finally, the long-anticipated fascinating event is here – the 2022 WWDC. The WWDC event is Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference where developers around the world meet and discuss with Apple’s engineers the next line of technologies by sharing ideas on new inventions and ways forward to improve the sector.
In the last two years, the event has been held virtually due to the effect of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, the same will also be repeated this year, as Apple announced no physical gathering due to the ongoing global health crisis.
According to the American tech giant, the 2022 WWDC event will be held from June 6 to June 10 and will be a free digital event. This year’s event will mark the 33rd series of the Worldwide Developers Conference.
However, even though the event is going to be held virtually, Apple has made plans for engineering sessions named one-on-one lab appointments, and the Apple Developer Forums, where developers around the world will be able to meet and discuss with Apple engineers the future versions of iOS, iPad, macOS, watchOS, and other interactive sessions for questions and answers.
Similarly, reports have also revealed that the tech giant is planning to hold an in-person event for some developers and students by inviting them to watch the 2022 WWDC keynote recording at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. Although it is based on invitations only that required developers and students to apply first.
Expected Launching Products
During the 2022 WWDC event, Apple is expected to unveil iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, tvOS 16, and watchOS 9. Following the unveiling of the new operating system improvements, Apple will make the software available to developers for testing ahead of a fall rollout.
Additionally, the tech giant intends to release an improved version of the Health app, which will include sleep tracking and medication management features. Apple is working on a medication management software that will allow users to scan their pill bottles into the app, although the initial version is unlikely to incorporate all of the planned features. New women’s health features are also coming to the Health app.
Likewise, the conference is also expected to feature the launch of the upcoming Mac Pro and/or an AR/VR headset. For some time now, Apple has been working on the AR/VR (or “mixed reality”) headset. Therefore, we also expect it to be featured at the event.
The 2022 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is expected to be streamed live on Apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, the Apple TV, and YouTube between June 6 to June 10. Follow TechGenyz for more updates on the upcoming conference.
