As scheduled, the global launch event of the ASUS ROG 6 phone has begun with a brief introduction of some of the specifications of the smartphone. The event kicked off at 5: 20 pm India time, 8 PM Taipei time, 2 PM Berlin time, and 8 AM New York time.
The new ASUS ROG 6 phone is the world’s first IPX4-rated gaming phone and comes in two varieties of ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. According to the mobile brand, the new smartphone features 360-degree cooling for the CPU to drastically reduce thermal throttling in games.
At the launch event, the firm revealed that the new devices are the ultimate gaming weapon and were manufactured to evolve their way to revolutionize the gaming world.
Design
The new ROG Phone 6 features the same angular gamer-centric design language as its predecessors, as well as a hexagonal camera island and gamer aesthetic graphics on the back of the phone. The gaming smartphone also appears to have a secondary display on the back panel.
The AeroActive Cooler for the ROG Phone 6 appears to be a little larger than its predecessor and has two additional buttons. The renders also show a “Devil case Guardian Lite Plus” case with cutouts for the camera island, rear display, and air triggers for the device.
Specifications
ASUS’s ROG Phone 6 comes in two variants of ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. The duo smartphones are equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets and come with a large 6.78-inch OLED display and FHD+ resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. The gaming device comes with up to 18GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. The Pro model has 18GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the vanilla version has plenty of choices, with 8, 12, 16, and 18GB of RAM and 128, 256, and 512GB of storage.
To enhance users’ gaming experience the ASUS ROG 6 phone comes with a large battery of 6,000mAh that supports 65W fast charging. The ROG Phone 6 could have two USB Type-C charging ports: one on the bottom of the device and one on the side of the device, allowing it to be charged even in landscape mode. As for cameras, the ROG Phone 6 featured a triple rear camera system headlined by a 64MP primary lens. For selfies, the phone could feature a 12MP front-facing camera.
Pricing
As per the earlier leak, the Asus ROG Phone 6 price in India is expected to be in the range of Rs 59,000 to Rs 65,000, while the Ultimate variant is expected to launch at a price ranging from Rs 79,000 to Rs 85,000 in the country.
