ASUS ROG Phone has been launched officially in the Indian market by becoming the first gaming-centric smartphone in India after making its debut at the Computex 2018 in June, this year.
The Asus ROG phone will be competing with the newly launched device Xiaomi Blackshark Helo, Nubia’s Redmagic Mars and Razer Phone 2. The company has adopted the enhanced ergonomics which was previously seen on the ROG-branded gaming laptops.
This comes with a solid metal body with the design of a diamond cut including backlit LED logo on the rear. The ROG phone sports 6-inch AMOLED display coupled with Full HD+ (2160*1080 pixels) resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
This also supports HDR playback and comes with 90Hz refresh rate with the response time of 1ms. This also features 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform which is overclocked at 2.96 GHz and Adreno 630 GPU.
The overclocked processor is optimized for the lag-free gaming and has also embedded the vapor-chamber that will keep the device at the optimal temperature. This comes with the Corning Gorilla glass protection and is water resistant. Asus ROG Phone consists of 12 MP +8 MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 120-degree wide-angle view. It also sports an 8MP camera on the front for clicking selfies.
It is fueled on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with the customized ROG Gaming UI laid on the top which is backed by a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery supporting 20W ASUS HyperCharge technology. The gaming-centric phone features consist of Two USB Type-C charging ports, one on the bottom edge and the other is mounted for charging the device while gaming. The USB Type-C can be also be used for HDMI output, Gigabit, LAN, and headphones.
The phone sports two programmable ultrasonic Air triggers for a better gaming experience. Asus also brings ROG’S Aura RGB lighting and the Aura Sync supporting the smartphones for the first time. It also has the additional accessory called the AeroActive cooler for cooling the games in longer durations.
It measures 158.8 x 76.2 x. 8.6mm and weighs 200 grams. The gaming-centric phone has dual front-facing stereo speakers with the dual amplifiers and with the sound surrounding support 7.1.
The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac ad 2 x 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 , With GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 3.1 port , USB Type C 2.0 support and 3.5 mm headphone jack. The built-in Snapdragon X21 LTE modem offers Gigabit+LTE speeds.
The additional accessories include TwinView Dock, Mobile Desktop Dock, Gamevice controller with WiGig Dock for the enhanced gaming experience. The ASUS ROG Phone will be available exclusively on Flipkart.com from Rs 69,999.
