The ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) launched the new ROG Phone II today. The ROG Phone II is going to be the first smartphone to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus Mobile Platform implemented in it. The ROG Phone II will also be the first phone to have the 120Hz/1ms AMOLED 10-bit HDR 6.59 inch display. Since it is a gaming phone, it is a prerequisite that the battery should last for a really long time.
Hence, the phone will run on a 6000mAh battery, and it has a side-charging design with a 30W ROG HyperCharge power adapter to ensure smooth and ultrafast charging. In terms of design, the ROG Phone II has a landscape-oriented design with the upgraded AirTrigger II ultrasonic sensors, Dual Surrounding Vibration technology, and powerful front-facing stereo speakers.
The TwinView Dock II will help with the dual-screen gaming. The ROG Kunai Gamepad gives the feel of the console gaming experience. The graphics of this phone is phenomenal with the 2.96 GHz power performance, thanks to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus Mobile Platform, and the new Adreno 640 GPU running at up to 675 MHz. The 12 GB RAM will make gaming on this phone an effortless experience.
The second-generation GameCool II cooling system with the nee 3D vapor chamber and the new AeroActive Cooler II will make sure that the ROG Aerodynamic System receives an equal airflow. The 4G LTE Cat 18 boosts the download speed up to 1.2 Gbps and wireless speeds up to 4.6Gbps with WiGig. AirTrigger II technology with both the tap and slide feature gives the vibration latency of 20 ms. Users can also plug in their headphones in the ROG Phone II as it has the 3.5mm audio jack.
Apart from these specifications, the ROG Phone II can be expanded by using many accessories released by ASUS. For example, the ROG Kunai Gamepad can be connected to the phone. This gamepad has three components- the ROG Kunai Bumper, ROG Kunai Controllers and ROG Kunai Holder.
The two-part Kunai Controllers can be attached to the Kunai Holder to create a standalone gamepad, or combined with the Kunai Bumper to add physical gamepad controls to ROG Phone II itself.
