ASUS gave a twist on the first day of Computex, the ongoing five-day mega technology event in Taipei. The company takes on Microsoft with its latest Transformer Series, a combination of tablet and laptop 2-in-1 PC. With a keyboard, pen, and chipset that will be familiar to anyone who’s seen a Surface Pro 4, the Transformer 3 Pro looks like a powerful alternative to Microsoft’s two-in-one offering. ASUS Transformer 3 Pro has diamond-cut detailing that accentuates its elegant design and is available in gorgeous Icicle Gold and Glacier Gray color options.
Precision crafted from aluminum, ASUS Transformer 3 Pro is only 8.35mm thin, an Intel Core i7 processor provides the power, you can get up to 16GB of RAM and an impressive 1TB of storage via an SSD drive, and there’s also a Thunderbolt 3 port for connectivity. Asus Transformer 3 Pro’s top model specifications include a 12.6-inch (2880×1920 pixels) display, a 13-megapixel-rear camera, a full-size USB 3.0 port, and a full-size HDMI port.
Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panels and is claimed to have a 9-hour battery life that is coupled with quick charging – 60 percent charge can be achieved in 49 minutes.
It will be available in four attractive colors, Stone, Charcoal, Taupe, and Amber, that perfectly complement the device. ASUS Transformer 3 Pro has an integrated metal kickstand with a step-less hinge that lets users set the device at almost any viewing angle up to 170°. Features a gold-backlit keyboard with twice the key travel of the MacBook. Dual front stereo speakers with audio by Harman Kardon provide spacious, defined sound for incredible listening experiences.
As is the case with the ZenBook 3, the Transformer 3 Pro can be combined with an Asus Universal Dock. Using the USB-C port, the optional dock adds USB-C, USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA, and RJ45 LAN ports and an SD card reader. A pen is also an option, although Asus includes the tablet’s keyboard cover.
