The Taiwanese giant, Asus has announced its new smartwatch, VivoWatch SP at IFA 2019 along with its latest smartphone ROG Phone II Ultimate Edition. The smartphone comes with a 1 TB storage, priced at €1,199.
One of the most noteworthy features of the watch is its electrocardiogram (ECG) feature that resembles the Apple iPhone Series 4. Besides this, Asus also claims that the VivoWatch SP can track your blood pressure and stress levels. The watch can resist up to 5 ATM pressure.
This new smartwatch has an inbuilt optical heart rate sensor. You just have to place your thumb on the optical sensor on the side to get a picture of your heart’s health with the ECG monitoring. This particular feature is also available on the Apple watches.
Asus VivoWatch SP has promising 14-days of battery life. Though the company hasn’t clarified if it will give the same battery performance with GPS turned on. The watch comes with a super reflective low power display instead of an LCD or OLED display. The details of the display resolution are still unknown.
You can track your precise exercise data with built-in GPS and altimeter. The watch will reportedly learn from the user’s usage habits over a week and will make suggestions to ensure a healthier life. Asus will pair up with the Asus AI Health app to get this done.
According to the company, this watch can also track sleep patterns along with the blood oxygenation levels. Asus VivoWatch SP will be launched in Q4 2019.
