As we are anticipating the official launch of the iPhone 15 later this year, several leakers have uncovered many of Apple’s biggest smartphone upgrades. Just yesterday, the popular TF International Securities tech analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the smartphone will be coming with enhanced UWB features.
According to him, the mobile brand is planning to better blend the iPhone with the recently launched Vision Pro ecosystem at the WWDC 2023 and will begin with the iPhone 15. Not only that but Apple is also reported to upgrade the iPhone 16 with Wi-Fi 7, which is the next-generation standard of Wi-Fi technology and will boost transfer speeds and data outrun.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 Upgrades Beneficiaries
However, in his latest survey today, the popular Apple analyst has named the beneficiaries of the duo’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 upgrades. In his works, TXC is the primary beneficiary of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 communication specification upgrades and the surge in demand for Nvidia/AI server optical transceivers.
Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the TXC supply ratio will increase from 45-50% to 60-70% as the firm will be benefiting from the iPhone 15 UWB specification upgrade, and Xtal’s ASP increases by 10-15%. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 upgrade to Wi-Fi 7 will also benefit the Xtal specification upgrade, estimated to increase ASP by 10-20%, benefiting the main supplier TXC’s revenue and profit.
Additionally, the analyst further pointed out that shipments of optical transceivers have grown significantly in response to the recent sharp rise in demand for AI servers.
“The high-end differential oscillator is required for the AI server optical transceiver, and its ASP is around 10–20 times more than that of a typical server/consumer electronics oscillator. Its gross margin also exceeds 50–60%,” he added. Hence, the AI trend will be very beneficial to TXC, being one of the largest oscillator providers for optical transceivers.
