Just this February, Microsoft announced the introduction of its new Bing and Edge apps for iPhone and Android, which include new features like voice search and access to its AI chatbot to encompass the recent fast-growing of AI tools. The feature allows users to ask a variety of questions via text or with their voices, as well as access to updates for Bing.
However, to continue enhancing users’ experience with AI, today the software giant has added Bing Chat AI to its popular SwiftKey keyboard for Android. The integration allows SwiftKey Beta users to quickly access Microsoft’s Bing chatbot at the tap of a button in any app. In 2016, Microsoft acquired SwiftKey after the third-party keyboard soared in popularity on Android and iOS.
Bing Chatbot is Now Available Inside any App with the Swiftkey Keyboard
SwiftKey’s Bing Chat integration enables both the standard chat mode, which provides access to the chatbot, and a tone mode, which will automatically modify any text within the keyboard. This new connection essentially eliminates the need for the Bing mobile app if you were only using it to access the chatbot assuming you were ready to install and use SwiftKey everywhere.
Confirming the integration, Pedram Rezaei, Microsoft’s CTO of mobile and commerce, tweeted with some images and said the feature is “slowly rolling out,” but there’s no word on when SwiftKey iOS users will be able to try it out. To access this new Bing Chat integration users need to download the beta version of SwiftKey on the Google Play Store.

At the time Rezaei further stated that Microsoft will be investing heavily in the keyboard, just as the company was preparing to publicly launch an AI-powered version of Bing. Recall that Microsoft discontinued support for SwiftKey on iOS last year, before quickly returning the app to the App Store.
Although SwiftKey for iOS hasn’t received frequent updates, Microsoft’s AI drive will probably cause this Bing connection to soon surface on the iPhone keyboard side. Microsoft might be reacting to rivalry from a variety of iOS AI-powered keyboards that use ChatGPT. The popular iOS app Paragraph AI features a user interface that enables text generation everywhere.
