As this year’s Paris Motor Show is nearing closer, every car-lover is anticipating the release of the BMW G20 3 series. The supercar will be revealed just next week, trying to grab the top position in its segment, which undoubtedly will be a lot of competition.

To increase our anticipation, even more, the German website of the automobile company now shows a completely blacked-out silhouette of the to-be-released 3er in its configurator – an indication that the wait is almost over. As if that was not enough, the company released another teaser video giving us a peek into the car’s production and assembly at the Dingolfing manufacturing plant, Germany.

The video is more comprehensive in understanding G20 series 3’s working. The video portrays the car’s journey through the assembly line, from welding to get the white paint, testing, and quality checking, and finally, a factory worker is shown attaching the majestic blue-white BMW roundel badge to the hood of the car. The video reveals several anticipated but not confirmed parts of the car, including the headlights, taillights, the side profile of the car without a cover, and most importantly its lavish interior.

The upcoming 3 series is expected to bring some more technology to the segment, adding to the evolving driving dynamics. The car will have a new chassis compiled with a driving experience setting. The new model comes with a brand new interior, designed to be at par with all the recently released models, and not to forget new driver assistance systems.

BMW had dropped latent information on the newly employed four-cylinder engine in the 3 series, which was certainly the most powerful four-pot engine ever engineered in a BMW model. The previously acclaimed most-powerful four-cylinder BMW engine is the 255hp B48 2.0-liter turbo, so the new four-cylinder will have at least 260 hp, as goes speculations since no specifications are available till now. This motor has already made its way into the BMW X2 M35i which was revealed earlier this month. The first 3 series variant to arrive will be the M340i M Performance, featuring the 360 hp charged inline-6 engines.

The BMW G20 3 series will be run on its new Cluster Rear Architecture (CLAR) platform, which has already been featured in series 5,7, and 8. The sedan will probably exceed the outgoing model by approximately 60mm with a longer wheelbase than the Mercedes C-class.
