Today, the German automobile company has officially confirmed April for the debut of the most powerful 7 Series – the BMW electric i7.
The new BMW electric i7, according to a report from Germany’s Auto Bild, will be the most powerful 7 Series ever, with an output of over 650 horsepower, allowing BMW to compete with Mercedes-reported AMG’s high-performance EQS model.
A less-powered version with the same 80 kWh battery as the i4 and a range of roughly 300 miles is also rumored to be in the vehicle. This model is projected to have a power output of around 536 horsepower.
In terms of aesthetics, AutoBild believes BMW’s new, more angular design language, as well as the massive kidney grilles from the i4 and iX, will be carried over to the i7.
The i7 will be distinguished from its combustion equivalents by its aerodynamic wheels and blue highlights. The electric car will also have low front overhangs and thinner headlamps, as seen in spy shots, and these features will also be carried over to the next-generation 7 Series.
BMW’s upcoming flagship electric vehicle, like the iX, could come with superior autonomous technology, as prototypes have been sighted with a slew of sensors.
It alludes to the 7er’s gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains, as well as the world’s first electric vehicle. Bavaria’s future flagship is said to be progressive, digital, and forward-thinking. Aside from the marketing talk, there’s a more interesting nugget regarding the i7, which is expected to be the most powerful version of the next 7 Series.
On the other hand, the BMW i7 is expected to be dubbed eDrive50 and will remain rear-wheel drive. The entry-level model will have a single electric motor situated in the back, producing between 450 and 535 horsepower. According to the WLTP cycle, the electric limo has a range of about 600 kilometers (373 miles), but this may vary substantially depending on wheel size.
The combustion-engined 7 Series and i7 are built on the same chassis, bringing cleaner gasoline and diesel engines to the market. BMW’s crown jewel will be packed with high-tech features, from completely automatic doors to the 31.3-inch Theatre Screen.
As such, the new i7 is expected to come with an illuminated front grille and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, as well as the newest Sky Lounge roof. Motorway Assistant, a more advanced semi-autonomous driving system, should be available.
The German automobile giant confirmed that the new BMW i7 will be unveiled in April in New York, Munich, and Beijing. While there will be auto shows in New York City and Beijing next month. The redesigned full-size car will most likely be unveiled at a special ceremony in the company’s hometown.
An internal presentation was made, as well as a demonstration of a new joint venture product to the staff. They also took test drives in the vehicles of their competitors. The BMW i7 is expected to go on sale by the end of the year after its debut. Stay connected to Techgenyz for more updates.
