Last year, Canon was experimenting with a new mini portable camera called the IVY REC, or the iNSPiC REC. This new project was on the crowdfunding basis. The camera not only had a likable design but also came in a small size along with an attractive, and colorful body.
The camera itself is of 13 MP and it supports 720P/30FPS, 1080P/60FPS video format recording. The features did not end there. As for the body of the camera, it features IP68 waterproof and dustproof certification and 3-meter impact protection.
The design was such that it was suitable for outdoor shootings. The response that followed the launch of IVY REC was mostly positive. Since the crowdfunding project proved to be a success, Canon announced that the company will push the camera into mass production. Subsequently, after the mass production, the camera was available in the US at a price of $130.
Now that the first experiment was successful, both in terms of consumer satisfaction and company profit, Canon has now announced a new product that is built largely on the design and concept of the first product. The camera company is calling the new portable camera PowerShot ZOOM. The latest from Canon is a telescope camera.
The camera itself is a small single-glass digital camera. Since the size of the camera is very small, it could be held in one hand, and its features along with its size make it ideal for outdoor outings and stadium watching or other similar scenes.
As for its features, Canon PowerShot ZOOM is equipped with 12.1 MP 1/3 inch sensor with three focal lengths of 100mm (optical) / 400mm (optical) / 800mm (digital). The fastest continuous shooting performance is clocked at 10 frames per second.
The camera supports 1080P/30FPS video recording. During its crowdfunding period, the camera was priced at 2030 yuan, and the production was limited to 1000 units. Now that this crowdfunding has proved to be successful, Canon will push it into mass production soon in the future. The pricing will be announced accordingly.
