Capcom just released a video with new details of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the expected expansion of Monster Hunter: World. The new images give an advance of confirmed subspecies monsters and allow a glimpse of the new meeting center in the Seliana barracks.
A monster subspecies arrives at Iceborne offering extreme and twisted variations that will increase the difficulty and that will require a master level of hunting skills to win. The new trailer makes a preview of two of the fearsome variants: wyvern Fulgur Anjanath channels the rays in place of the fire and the wyvern Ebony Odogaron with sharp fangs, with a wider range of attack and an elemental dragon. There is also another brief preview of Glavenus, which has already appeared in the past history trailer.
We can also take another look at the Selena base at Hoarfrost Reach, an operations center that was already in progress a few months ago. Built around an interactive thermal spring, hunters and Palicoes can conveniently handle all pre-hunting needs in the vicinity, such as blacksmithing to make equipment, the resource center to manage rewards or botanical research to collect objects.
Iceborne will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2019, with a PC release planned for this winter. Among these new types of creatures, we find the electrifying wyvern Brute Fulgur Anjanath or the wyvern Wyvern Odogaron, which is crueler than ever offering a wider range of attack. The ferocious Glavenus uses his sword-shaped tail to annihilate the hunters with this sweeping attack of his own.
Other game options offer additional flexibility for multiplayer hunter teams. A balanced difficulty climbed for the first time in the series that will adapt to a team of two players if others have retired or if a duo prepares to undertake a search with their Palicoes in tow.
New squad cards can be sent with information about the respective team to invite others to join the group, similar to the Guild Cards for each hunter that can be exchanged individually. Sub-leaders have been added for squad members and may share obligations when recruiting and accepting team requests.
