At Computex 2018, Asus unveiled its new VivoWatch BP that can monitor your blood pressure and will even offer fitness suggestions via HealthAI support in its correspondent app, which contains numerous health charts.

The smartwatch sports a square display with rounded corners. The monochromatic display returns as in its predecessor and has become more colorful. There are thicker bezels for hosting extra sensors on the front. The screen is positioned a little leaning towards the right and bottom, making the left and top bezels heavier.

A silver circular dial on the front needs your fingerprint to get a blood pressure reading. All you need is to put your finger on the dial for 15-20 seconds. The reading is provided by four sensors, two of which are an ECG for pulse rate and a PPG or optical sensor for BP levels. VivoWatch BP also offers readings of pulse rate, step counts, sleep quality, and de-stress index.

The health of the companion app displays personalized health advice for reducing hypertension. It also allows sharing your health info with family or doctors to offer guidance or motivation.

While the predecessor lacked GPS, the new BP model of VivoWatch bears it and even enables location data sharing. The battery life has been doubled as well, with 28 days of juice in one full charge and under normal usage.

Priced at $169, it will be available in Asian markets before others by July end. American markets will receive the smartwatch by Q2 or Q3 next year and are currently awaiting FDA approval. Asus expects that fitness fanatics will feel the pull due to elaborate features despite the unattractive appearance of the VivoWatch BP.
