After being announced years ago, Dead Island 2 has been in development for a very long time.
The game was initially revealed in 2014. However, due to a few development issues and a protracted period of silence, there were worries that it would go unfinished. But eventually, the developers presented the game at Gamescom this year.
In case you’re waiting for it, here’s all you need to know about Dead Island 2 characters, release date, gameplay, and more.
The release of Dead Island 2 has been postponed until 2023
Dead Island 2 was supposed to come out in February 2023 as originally planned. However, Dambuster Studios announced a 12-week delay in November. The developers stated, “The delay is just 12 short weeks, and development is on the final straight now.”
The Dead Island 2 release date is slated for April 28, 2023, and it will be available on all major platforms simultaneously, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The Dead Island 2 gameplay trailer gives a solid picture of the game
The first official Dead Island 2 gameplay trailer, which was released in December, primarily showcased zombies, but the teaser also showed off the other kinds of enemies that can be encountered in Dead Island 2.
The zombie-infested streets, residences, and beaches are depicted in the video. There were huge zombies, smart zombies, and even zombies who genuinely resembled living skeletons. Further in the gameplay trailer of Dead Island 2, Jacob introduces players to the other outbreak survivors while keeping their names a secret as he moves throughout the city with a wrench and a baton.
Three Dead Island 2 playable characters have been revealed
Dead Island 2 will feature six playable characters, with Jacob’s identity previously known. Additionally, Ryan and Dani have recently been revealed by Game Informer as two new playable characters. Both of them have interesting backstories, and as the release date approaches, Dead Island fans can anticipate more information being revealed in the coming days.
That’s all there is to know about Dead Island 2, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated if the devs provide any additional details.
