In an interview, one of the Deathloop team members unintentionally leaked information regarding a potential new Deathloop sequel or DLC.
This leak originates from a two-month-old interview discovered by a Reddit user. Jason Kelley, who plays Colt in the video game Deathloop, recently revealed in an interview that Arkane Studios is still hiring him and Ozioma Akagha, who plays Julianna, for the project under the codename Deathloop. Though immediately after realizing that he shouldn’t have shared this info, he made an effort to change the topic while Ozioma said that they had not received any further information regarding it.
Arkane is renowned for its realistic simulation games like Prey and Dishonored, and it is believed to be working on at least one brand-new title, Redfall. The studio, though, seems to have additional plans for the future. Given that the voice actors are currently being hired, Jason’s words imply that the Deathloop sequel is presently in development.
The game was heavily criticized prior to its release. But when it was launched, the game garnered positive reviews and a sizable following in the gaming community, and at the 2021 Game Awards, it took home the awards for best game direction and art direction. Given Deahtloop’s enormous popularity, a sequel is surely something Arkane can think about. It would also be unreasonable for the creators to forgo creating a sequel to Deathloop, which already has a sizeable fan base.
The Deathloop sequel or DLC may have completed development phases or be nearing completion, in which case the studio might be looking for a voice actor.
