Earlier today morning, DICE rolled out the latest Battlefield 2042 update 0.2.2, across all platforms.

This update is a little light on features, but it does include a few welcome repairs and directly addresses a handful of the game’s major flaws.

The most interesting addition in Update 0.2.2 is the nerfing of excessive weapon bloom, which made it so that shots didn’t land where you wanted them to. It also reduces the effectiveness of the PP-29 SMG, which was everyone’s go-to weapon for avoiding bloom at range by increasing vertical recoil.

Another significant change in today’s release is a remedy for an issue that prohibited players from being revived when they died adjacent to a wall or geometry. On that note, players should no longer be unable to be resurrected or respawned if they were downed.

As a safeguard against this issue, the game will now send you back to the spawn screen after 30 seconds.

The LCAA Hovercraft, which has dominated the vehicle meta since its release due to its formidable weapons, agility, and speed, has been nerfed. It now has lighter armor, which means it can take less damage. Its top minigun will now do less damage as well.

All land vehicles in the game are affected by the minigun changes. DICE reduced bullet damage from 18 to 13, changed damage fall off start at 40 meters instead of 60, and reduced damage at maximum fall off to 6. Minigun shots will, in general, drop more and cause less damage.

The MD540 Nightbird and KA-520 Super Hokum helicopters have also received balance modifications in release 0.2.2 updates.

Here are the full notes of the Battlefield 2042 patch 0.2.2 updates:

  • Except for shotguns, bullet spread has been reduced on all weapons. As a result, gameplay should be more accurate.
  • The vertical recoil of the PP-29 has been increased to ensure that the weapon does not overperform when used outside of its intended combat range.
  • Fixed an issue where players who died near impediments like walls or water were unable to be revived. Reducing overall damage and the range at which rounds perform complete damage while increasing the overall bullet spread on the KA-520 Super Hokum – 30mm Cannon (side mount).
  • Blast Radius was reduced from 2 to 1.6.
  • Blast Damage has been reduced from 20 to 14 points. Before Damage, bullet damage was reduced.
  • Falling off begins between the ages of 18 and 15. Bullet damage at max Fall Off distance has been reduced from 8 to 6 due to a reduction in damage fall off distance from 200 to 180.
  • Bullet range and spread have been increased.
  • The new update limits the radius at which bullets deal damage upon impact and decreases their splash damage on the AH-64GX Apache Warchief and KA-520 Super Hokum – 30mm Cannon. Blast Damage has been reduced from 20 to 18 points. Damage has been increased.
  • For adversaries further out from the bullet hit center, the bullet will fall off.
  • The Minigun’s total damage has been lowered for all Land Vehicles, and bullet damage reduction has begun sooner. Before Damage, bullet damage was reduced.
  • From the ages of 18 to 13, people begin to fall off. Damage Fall Off distance has been reduced from 60 to 40 meters. Bullet damage has been reduced to 6 at the maximum Fall Off distance.
  • Finally, the LCAA Hovercraft’s equipped armor type has been changed, increasing its vulnerability to various weapon kinds.
  • UAV-1 – Battlefield Portal Within Battlefield Portal, the UAV-1 has been re-enabled.
  • Health regeneration time and speed have been greatly sped up.
  • Missile damage against vehicles and infantry has been increased. The drone may now kill foes on the road.
  • Breakthrough matches will now terminate when the last sector has been captured appropriately.

Players queuing for a match in Battlefield Portal were directed back to the menu instead of joining the match when a slot became available, which was fixed.
