Disney+ content is finally available in India via the popular entertainment app, Hotstar. Disney+’s content lineup at Hotstar includes popular titles such as The Mandalorian and The World According to Jeff Goldblum. These are just some of the famous Disney+ content available. Moreover, Hotstar also includes old Disney content.
Disney+ launched in November 2019, and at that time, it was just another competitor to the already established OTT spaces such as the extremely popular Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. However, on the day of the launch itself, Disney+ acquired 10 million subscribers, proving itself to be a worthy competitor of other OTT streaming spaces.
The equation with the Indian market was a bit different. Hotstar was already owned by Disney, and as such the Disney+ was supposed to be a part of that streaming app. Ahead of Disney+ arrival, Hotstar was sporting a new logo. Now, the new logo mentions “Disney+ Hotstar”.
Rober Iger, the then CEO of Disney, had mentioned that Disney+ would launch in India on March 29, 2020. Likewise, Hotstar had also informed its users that the Disney+ content will be available from later this month.
However, it looks unlikely that the Disney+ content will be available to all of Hotstar users. Most likely, the Hotstar premium customers will have access to the Dsney+ content. Hotstar Premium subscription is available for Rs 999 per annum or Rs 299 per month.
To get their hands on the new Disney+ content, Hotstar users need to update their app on Play Store.

It added, “Lastly, don’t forget to check out our Kids mode, where Kids can see only content suitable for them! We have more goodies lined up in the coming releases, turn your auto-update on to make sure you don’t miss a thing!”
