One of the leading Chinese drone companies, DJI, on November 15, officially launched two new agricultural drones. At a press conference, DJI launched two new drones, T40 and T20P. Both drones are concerned with usage in agricultural areas.
The agricultural industry has seen a boom when it comes to spraying pesticides and fertilizer utilizing drone technology. The brand new drone from DJI, the T40, is capable of carrying a 40 kg spraying box, or a 50 kg sowing box. The drone comes equipped with a dual atomization spraying system with a higher flow rate. This will ensure that the adhesion rate of the medicine liquid is raised. The technology used on the drone has increased the sowing efficiency to 1.5 tons of fertilizer per hour.
DJI T40 features a coaxial twin-rotor design and industry-standard 54-inch blades. The spraying system comes equipped with a new magnetic drive impeller pump which can provide 12 liters/minute of superflow. The drone uses a nozzle to spray the fertilizer or the medicine liquid, and to make sure that there is no problem of leakage, the company has equipped the drone with a centrifugal valve design. The company has announced that the effective spraying range can reach up to 320 mu per hour which accounts for a 30% higher efficiency when compared to its previous generation of drones.
The T40 drone comes with two modes: active phased array radar and binocular vision. The system can monitor the distance up to 50 meters; moreover, the drone possesses the ability to intelligently imitate the ground and slide over multiple obstacles.
The drone also comes equipped with FPV ultra-high-definition camera which collects real-time images and generates maps using a remote control. The pricing for the T40 drone starts at 57999 yuan.
