The free-to-play, multiplayer online video game Pokémon UNITE is introducing the Psychic-type Pokémon from Generation II, Espeon into Aeos Island as a Ranged Attacker. Espeon is one of Eevee’s final forms and it will be joining Sylveon, which is another evolution of Eevee.
Sylveon became a playable character in Pokémon UNITE in October 2021, while Espeon is being added to the game on 16th May 2022. As an Attacker, Espeon will be a champion Pokemon who can deal a lot of damage from a long-range, however, they have less HP than the other types of Pokemon which are the Defenders and Supporters.
Espeon will be coming to the game on 16th May as a playable character, which was officially revealed by the Pokemon Unite’s Twitter account. As the second Eeveelution to be added to the game, it is bound to become a fan favorite. Perhaps this will pave the way for the other Eeveelutions to join the game eventually as well.
As the 35th champion in Pokémon UNITE, Espeon will be joining the ranks of Pokemon such as Duraludon, Gardevoir, Greninja, Alolan Ninetales, Pikachu, and Sylveon. Players will need to purchase the Pokemon with Aeos Coins, and new champions usually go at 10,000 coins at launch.
Little else has been revealed about Espeon, except for a leak last month that displayed the key art and in-game models of the Pokemon, along with another Pokemon called Delphox which is speculated to be added soon to the game. There is additional information that there might be a new mode added to Unite soon, which will let the players catch the wild Pokemon and open up the roster to more possibilities of gameplay modes.
The Pokemon developers will likely be releasing footage of Espeon in the coming days, and there are some speculations that the release of the new Pokemon will come with some balance changes to the other existing Pokemon in the game. Players will have to wait for official notice from Nintendo to find out more about the elusive new champion of the game Pokemon UNITE.
