Elon Musk said earlier this month that his owned Tesla Roadster would be the payload of Falcon Heavy on its maiden launch. The possibility of sending his own car as a payload to Mars left his fans bewildered enough to miss the truth behind it.
The first revealed pictures of the Cherry Red Roadster suggest that the car is well-prepped to be on the voyage. It is mounted in the payload attach fitting in a way that should optimize the entire weight distribution.
As per earlier announcements, the world’s most powerful rocket, Falcon Heavy, will be launched by January 2018. No further details regarding its maiden launch are disclosed this far. Although, the revealing of the image that contains the Roadster all prepped for voyage has given rise to speculations.
More interestingly, when a user on Twitter questioned ‘why’ to send his car, Musk replied that he simply loves the idea!
The best part is that Musk gave an insight on the upcoming journey of his car. According to him, Tesla Roadster Mars voyage will be carrying amusing things like a sign saying ‘Don’t Panic,’ a towel, and a copy of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ of Douglas Adams. During the journey, the track ‘Space Oddity’ of David Bowie will be played.
