Gamers, today is your last day to play around in Fortnite’s Playground Mode. As Epic Games is set to launch season 5 in Fortnite: Battle Royale, they are about to remove this limited-time event tonight at 9 pm PST / 12 am EST. We are going to have to wait at least until the release of version 2, to find out if this creative mode reappears again, and if so, in what form.
It was a short-lived free-for-all playlist that attracted even casual players who were able to practice in a “low-pressure environment”, with up to three friends for a better understanding of the game since there is no risk of elimination by others.
A Playground match has a 60-minute time limit, where friends can explore a map, and the storm circle starts closing in after the 55-minute mark. Players can use the friendly fire feature and respawn unless the storm is destroyed.
There are a lot of other creative features, and it is a class apart from a regular match. It allows building and friendly matches amongst players and is similar to a full-fledged Minecraft mode. It has been a huge hit among casual as well as die-hard gamers.
Last week, the developer said on Reddit, “The Playground LTM represents our first step into what a full creative mode looks like in Fortnite,” indicating that it is an advancement towards the creation of a “full creative mode” sometime in the future.
So time to say goodbye to The Playground LTM for now, as we gear up for new modes and new exciting challenges in season 5 of Playgorund: Battle Royale.
