The developer and manufacturer of graphics cards, NVIDIA, had started the new edition of CES 2019 with many products launched on its sleeve. The chip maker has chosen the event to present their new mid-range graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. They have also presented its GeForce RTX range for laptops and announced the compatibility for the VESA Adaptive-Sync Technology standard with its graphics cards.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060
Its new graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, would be called to replace the current graphics GeForce GTX 1060. An increase in overall performance and RTX support would make it as powerful as GeForce GTX 1070.
The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 will have 1920 CUDA cores, along with 37 Cores Tensor which will give it a capacity of 5 Giga Rays/s. The new model, as VRAM memory, has 6 GB of GDDR6 memory, operating at 14 Gbps on a 192-bit bus. This allows users to obtain a bandwidth of 336 GB/s.
The sale price of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 will be $ 349 and should reach the stores (both the NVIDIA reference model as the rest of assemblers) from January 15.
NVIDIA G-Sync compatible for FreeSync supported monitor
At CES 2019, NVIDIA also talked about its new range of graphics cards designed to be mounted on laptops. These new models will reach 40 models of laptops and, of them, up to 17 will be Max-Q models. According to Jen-Hsun, CEO of NVIDIA, the Max-Q models will give a performance output in laptops, superior to their previous generation desktop counterparts. That is, a laptop equipped with a GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphic will yield more than a desktop computer equipped with a GeForce GTX 1080 graphic.
In addition, one more surprise of the presentation at CES 2019 is the announcement about the change of address in NVIDIA regarding Variable Refresh Rate technologies, such as AMD FreeSync and VESA Adaptive-Sync Technology. And, from now on, these technologies will be compatible with G-Sync technology, thanks to a new driver that should arrive next January 15th.
NVIDIA partners with Mercedes
During CES 2019, which is taking place in Las Vegas, Mercedes announced the choice of having Nvidia graphics processors. The company will be in charge of the vehicle’s artificial intelligence, its vision of autonomous cars, and the power of the supercomputer software.
Nvidia’s founder, Jensen Huang, and the German manufacturer’s Vice President, Sajjad Khan, set out plans for the next generation of smart cars and new mobility solutions. Nvidia’s founder has promised to build a computer that will define the future of autonomous vehicles, AI, and mobility.

The strategy involves introducing a single system chipset that controls both the standalone features of the cars and all the functions of the intelligent cockpit to replace the dozens of small, interconnected processors in today’s models.
