On Wednesday Facebook announced new music features to roll out for its billion-plus users. Facebook announces to build on licensing deals it struck earlier this year with music labels, adding lyrics for its Lip Sync Live feature and allowing users to add songs to their profiles and stories.
The company is enhancing Lip Sync Live, which is now available in many countries around the world. To enjoy this feature, take a photo or video from the Facebook Camera or grab one from your camera roll, then tap on the sticker icon and select the music sticker. There you can select the song you want to add and pick the part to share and add the sticker with the artist and song name. You can also move the sticker around and add other stickers and effects to customize your story.
The social network originally revealed in June that it was testing the ability for people to include licensed music in their videos, allowing users to sing along with available songs and add descriptions which have ultimately come live on the app.
Facebook is also expanding up the feature to more artists and creators by expanding to Pages, giving them more ways to connect with their fans. Facebook is also adding lyrics to Lip Sync Live. Lyrics feature has already rolled out, and are available for songs including Dua Lipa’s “New Rules,” Khalid’s “Better,” and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5.
