Redkix, an Israeli startup that provides tools to communicate more effectively by combining email with a more formal collaboration tool, is ready to be acquired by Facebook. Redkix officials said so on Thursday. Redkix will join Facebook’s Workplace to help other companies collaborate. Facebook released Workplace back in 2016. Facebook’s Workplace is a subscription-based social platform.
Redkix is a great solution for bridging the worlds between traditional email messaging and more modern conversational messaging. Not all enterprises are ready to simply switch from one to the other, and Redkix allows for users to work in whichever method they want, seamlessly communicating with the other. – Alan Lepofsky, who covers enterprise collaboration at Constellation Research
The deal is said to be valued at about $100 million. After the acquisition is finished, the CEO and CTO of the company is highly likely to shut down the application. This is a golden opportunity for Facebook too as they were looking to expand their business as Facebook is competing with Slack, Microsoft, Cisco, and Google around communications and collaboration. Perhaps, the new acquisition will help Facebook increase their business and prove to belong at the top with the leading companies.
Redkix co-founders Oudi and Roy Antebi said in a blog on the company’s website, “Bringing people closer together are at the core of Facebook. Workplace brings this mission to enterprises to make them more connected and productive.” Redkix has previously raised about $20 million from investors only. One of those investors is Salesforce Ventures. Redkix has offices in California and Tel Aviv.
