While the shopping spree is on and the season is right here; Facebook takes on the correct time to provide its users to easily find and share gift ideas with friends. Now that’s good news for all last-minute holiday shoppers. The company announced today that it’s making collections, a feature it started rolling out last year, shareable.
The idea is to turn collections into more of a collaborative tool. To do so, you’ll need to open up a collection and then click the “invite” button. Then you can invite other users to become contributors to that collection. With collections, users can already save Facebook content whether it’s a post, an ad, a video in Facebook Watch or a listing on the Marketplace.
This week, Facebook is rolling out the ability to share those collections so your friends can view the content you’ve gathered and the posts that you’ve added. Facebook began rolling out its collection feature late last year as a way for people to save and organize content such as posts from friends and pages.
With the new Facebook collection sharing feature, those collections can be shared with friends or groups of friends. People who are invited can become contributors to those collections, with the ability to add and edit posts. You could also open up to a list to let your friends collectively create a collection of recipes for a holiday party, pool vacation ideas, a wedding registry or favorite memes.
