To find out whether the security breach by Facebook has affected UK citizens or not, The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office stated on Friday that they would enquire with Facebook ( FBO) and other overseas regulators.
Earlier Facebook informed that they discovered how the security breach had affected their 50 million users approximately. This all happened because some hackers or attackers stole Facebook’s “view as” feature, which they used to take over people’s accounts.
ICO Deputy Commissioner of Operations James Dipple Johnstone said, “ It’s always the company’s responsibility to identify when UK citizens have been affected as part of data breach and take steps to reduce any harm to consumers”.
