According to a tweet from the tech blogger Jane Manchun Wong, the social media giant Facebook has started to test the Dark Mode setting publicly. The social media tech giant Facebook has been working on Dark Mode support for quite some time now, and it had rolled out the Dark Mode setting for desktop users earlier this year.
Users could enjoy the dark mode setting in the desktop app and the desktop messenger. However, for smartphone users, the development was only in progress so far. As Dark Mode is a very popular choice for apps, it was quite expected that Facebook would have come up with the feature for smartphone users in a short period.
Popular apps that are owned by thesocial media giant has already started to feature the Dark Mode support. As we all know, the Messenger app in Android has been providing a dark mode setting for the users, and it is doing so for quite some time now. Among other apps, we have WhatsApp, Instagram, and the Facebook Lite app that feature a Dark Mode setting.
The Mark Zuckerberg led-social media giant had already started testing of the Dark Mode support on its mobile app earlier this year, but it was in a very small scale .
According to the data of end June, a report by Social Media Library had claimed that it had been confirmed by the tech giant itself that the feature was being tested on “a small percentage of users globally” right then. Also, the same had been reported by some of the users of the social media giant on Twitter.
However, there was no official word about the final date of official launch of the dark mode support on Facebook. We could only infer that it would come soon.
