Facebook Launches Live Video Streaming Feature

Facebook just introduced Facebook Live for every member of the community. Earlier last year, the largest social media platform in the world launched the service for celebrities through Moment App and later to everyone in the US using our iOS and Android apps.

Now, everyone using Facebook can connect with their friends and families, brands can reach out to their followers, and celebrities can reach out to their fan base in real-time.

Facebook has also enabled live in Facebook Groups – users can start broadcasting right on the Groups, and members in the particular group can join and interact with other members through QnA sessions.

Now, celebrating your birthday with your distant friends and family members has become easier – you can share live videos in real-time to give them a sneak peek of your birthday party.

Live video on Facebook is truly interactive as broadcasters engage with their commenters and respond to their suggestions and questions. In fact, from initial data, we’ve seen that people comment more than 10 times more on Facebook Live videos than on regular videos. We want people watching the broadcast after the fact to feel “in” on the action. To achieve this, we will replay comments as they happened during the live broadcast when people watch it later – Facebook

The social media giant has also included a set of five Live Filters and planning to add the ability to draw or doodle on your video while live in the coming days.

The newly launched feature also lets you invite your friend to watch the live video. So from next time, your friends will also enjoy the same broadcast with you – all you need to do – right from the live video, just tap on the invite icon and select the friend you want to invite, and they will receive a push notification with your invitation.

If you want to watch some of your favorite broadcasts happening worldwide, no need to worry about that. Facebook has rolled out a dedicated place on Facebook’s mobile app where you can explore live videos happening in the world and among your friends and communities.
