Sharing files with your friends has become easier – you can now directly send Dropbox files in Facebook Messenger without having to copy and paste. Instead of finding a link and copying it to the clipboard, you can share images and videos with your friends in the chatbox.
The new feature is available on Android and iOS Messenger apps. All you need to do is just tap the “More” button on your device app, and you’ll see Dropbox as an available source.
We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about – Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger.
“Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.”
Facebook is experimenting with adding new features in Messenger, and with this integration, users can also share animated GIF images. Images and videos you share will be displayed on the chatbox giving your friends a hint of what you’ve shared with them. By tapping the Open tab, you can also preview and save files in your Dropbox mobile app without leaving the chat window.
Facebook has started rolling out the feature for its over 900 million Messenger users, and you can update your Messenger and Dropbox app from Google Play Store and App Store to share your first file.
