In the aim to keep on building a safe community, Facebook announced a few new updates for its Safety Check section today. By the help of these updates, users are to experience enhanced communication on Facebook in terms of security.

The four updates are:

1. Introducing Fundraisers in Safety Check – The users will be provided with an option to initiate a fundraiser on the platform of Safety Check. A business crisis leads people to go for fundraising, and that will now be easier. The Fundraisers option within Safety Check will help you create or donate to fundraisers to help those in need. The option provides a platform for those who are outside of the crisis to offer help. It will start rolling out in the coming week for U.S. users.

2. Expanding Community Help – Early 2017 saw Facebook introduce Community Help on Android and iOS. This gained requests and offers for help from the community consisting of people serious about making sure that “those in need are able to access Community Help through any platform.” The new update will make Community Help available on the desktop and will be applicable to the Safety Check activated crisis types.

3. Adding more context with a personal note – The new update lets people add a personal note for more details on the crisis from within the Safety Check tool. The space for the note will appear in “the News Feed story that is automatically generated when people mark themselves safe.”

4. Introducing crisis descriptions – People don’t usually have enough information regarding the crisis during receiving Safety Check notifications. This new update helps you with more descriptions of the crisis from NC4, which is the trusted third-party global crisis reporting agency of Facebook.

Looking back, users have been experiencing Safety Check more than 600 times over the past two years. The communicative platform also made people around the world share knowledge about their safety more than a billion times. Facebook is known to be dedicated to the security of its global community, and these updates justify its hope to continue doing so.
