A year ago Facebook has added six reaction buttons but some users were disappointed since they missed the “dislike” option at that time. A new report suggests that the social media giant has been working on the dislike button but only for the Messenger app. If everything goes fine then Facebook users can see the “Dislike” button with a thumbs-down reaction soon.
According to a report in TechCrunch, Facebook is going through some testing of new reaction features in its most popular app. Users now add reaction emojis in conversation with old emojis and reactions – a total of 7 reactions and with the new favorite thumbs down is also there.
With new reaction, there is “thumbs up” also present, and talking about rest they are same to those like on Facebook posts. If you want to send a reaction, you have to just tap on the emojis button and choose your favorite from the list. The new update also brings a “reaction counter”, which means now you can see the total number of reactions for each message.
We’re always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging. This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message.-said Facebook
They also said that the new “thumbs down” button is a “No” button, not a dislike button. And, added that testing new feature is tested out with some people and now if the test turns out to be a success then it will be available to all users.
