Facebook And Twitter Hold GIFCT, An Anti-Extremism Alliance, Summit

So, some of the web giants came together to counter it. Twitter, Facebook, Microsoft, and Google formed alliance global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT).

GIFCT are holding their inaugural meeting today. The action intends to leverage technology — such as the shared industry hash database and machine vision-based detection — to stamp out extremist imagery online. UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd and the US Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Elaine Duke, along with EU and UN representatives also attended the meeting.
