Facebook has been fighting against spambots for a long time, and its latest move in the process is requesting user photos with their ‘clearly’ visible faces.
According to Wired, social media will send requests to users who typically seem to perform activities that spambots are known to do, like creating accounts and ads and sending random friend requests.
In the past few months, quite a few users have already received the request, and now Facebook looks like expanding it.
At the same time, Facebook is also locking users out of their accounts for about 12 hours while they would be reviewing photos in the meantime. And some users are being locked out of their accounts and asked for photos of their faces for the second time.
Well, Facebook did say that the photos will be permanently deleted from the servers after the completion of the process. This further brings to the point where the social media giant is also asking for nude photos of users. Facebook said that these will be permanently deleted too.
Given the scenarios, even if it is for a short time period, users are still to have photos of their faces and even nudes in the servers of the popular social media.
