Facebook has added a new, very useful feature to its mobile and desktop application. The social media giant has rolled out a weather information feature that will help users to keep track of the weather inside Facebook. Having your mobile, make an easy to use this feature that can be accessed from either the mobile app’s menu option or the News Feed of the application.
On mobile, at the “more” menu option, people use features like Friends, Groups, Pages, Events, On This Day or Saved Items, and more – after this new update users will see an additional Weather option. The most interesting part is now you can have a look at the full forecast for a whole week which can replace your Weather app on your smartphone.
Earlier last year, Facebook has already launched a forecast for events, and public places, and the current one was spotted testing weather updates in the U.K. This, is not the first time the social giant is experimenting with this feature. Last year, Facebook unveiled “Weather Greeting” on News Feed, which works like a small package, was integrated with short informational weather updates, and appeared at top of News Feed. And now it will switch to the top of the News Feed with a link to the full, five-day forecast – interestingly, it will go on change to add some enhanced features.
“We are doing this because our goal is to develop products that connect people to the things they care about most and create moments of joy in people’s day, like simply telling you that it’s going to rain later,” a spokesperson said.
The new feature has already rolled out on mobile and desktop sites and all enhanced updates will be out by end of the month. Like all other weather apps, you can select your location to see the current report of that place. You just need to set your current locations for accurate reports through the “setting” option.
In the updated weather forecast feature, cartoon-style heading along with graphics has also been updated and all the data you’ll see are powered by Weather.com.
