Today, the American multinational technology company, Meta Platforms, Inc., formerly known as Facebook, has unveiled an updated version of Facebook Messenger Beta, Windows 10 and 11, with native UWP controls, abandoning Electron and more.
According to MSPoweruser reports, Facebook has been working hard to develop Messenger applications. New features are routinely introduced to the latest version of the software.
The corporation issued a huge update to the Messenger Beta app, which removed the application’s Electron basis and replaced it with the new React Native platform.
WBI claims that this update brings the application’s version number up to 1320.11.119.0 and the enhancements.
Facebook has updated the Messenger application for Windows 10 and 11: it now uses many native UWP controls, making it faster and more optimal resources.
The program was previously developed in Electron and has now been rewritten in React Native. Moving to a more native solution boosts application performance while lowering system resource usage.
Instead of using a proprietary solution, Messenger now uses the normal controls of a typical Windows GUI. The new version of the program is 100MB smaller than the previous one. There have been a number of bug fixes and enhancements.
Recently the corporation changed it name from Facebook to Meta Platforms, Inc. The company is the parent organization of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, among other subsidiaries.
