Recently, the enterprise arm of Globe Telecom Inc. has partnered with Facebook Inc. to offer Facebook pay payment solutions for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. It was announced that the social media giant will now allow payments through an Ad Creator, where online advertising may be paid through the company’s postpaid bill.
It seems like Facebook is working on its new service “Facebook Pay” transaction page. Twitter user Jane Manchun Wong posted a screenshot of the Facebook pay transaction page asking whether it is a rebrand or a new service.
Facebook is looking to explore the popular mobile payments space and keep users on its site longer. Facebook already sells individuals’ personal information to companies that market on its platform, and your eCommerce business can likely obtain individual card numbers and purchase history as well.
Users can already use Facebook pay payment service through its Messenger application, where users can link their debit card to the messenger app’s settings section and send mobile peer-to-peer payments to their friends. Facebook is already a major advertising platform, it seems that with this new Facebook Pay service it intends to let users cling to the app much longer than before. However, nothing is confirmed yet.
