Files Go is a small hit app for Google. Today on the basis of feedback over the last three months, they announced the introduction of more features to make them more useful to the audience. The smart file manager with peer-to-peer file transfer capabilities is now adding on-device search, Google Photos integration, and more.
The Files Go, until today’s update, lacked search capabilities. Thus the app is updated with new features that can look up files with a new prominent search bar at the top of the Files tab. It also includes instant file search. You can search for files on your phone just like searching on the internet. Files Go now brings Google’s expertise at searching so that files can be searched on the search icon to find all of your files on your phone in a split second, and it works even when offline.
It was much easier to remove the duplicate file with Files Go, but the location of the files was unknown. So now, when File Go suggests removal, you can easily locate the file by long pressing on the “i” icon.
Files Go also works with Google photos to determine which photos and videos are already backed by the cloud service. The app then detects and prompts to delete the files that are already backed up in Google photos, thus letting you free up more space.
The new version 1.0.189786363 of the app is available on Play store.
