Over the past two years, WhatsApp has been reportedly developing search for messages by date features. Now, the American social media service has finally rolled out the feature on the TestFlight app.
The new feature named “Search For Messages By Date” is marked as WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.24.0.77 and was released today with Android tablet support and companion mode for iOS.
The feature is part of the social media commitment to enhancing users’ experience on its platform. With this feature, it is now very easy for the platform users to jump to a certain date within a conversation and go straight to a specific conversation or message.
WHATSAPP SEARCH FOR MESSAGES BY DATE FEATURE
To demonstrate this feature, you need to use the search feature in a conversation. If a calendar icon appears, it means the feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account. With the help of this function, you can quickly find out which messages have been exchanged in a given conversation by jumping to a specific date or even to the first message. Don’t worry if the calendar icon doesn’t show up; as always, it will be made available to more users later.
Once you install the most recent beta update from the TestFlight app, some few lucky beta testers receive the ability to search for messages by date. However, the social media service noted that more users will receive it over the next few weeks, as it has not been rolled out for all users.
