Amazon has finally confirmed the existence of the much-anticipated Fire TV/Echo hybrid, the Amazon Fire TV Cube, by teasing it on a new teaser page, reports AFTVnews. The name and the email list that users can sign up for receiving updates are the only details that have yet been provided for the device, but more information is expected to be coming soon.
During the fall of last year, AFTVnews published pictures of two leaked Fire devices; a square-shaped Fire TV dongle, whose existence has since been confirmed, and a second, cube-shaped set-top box, which is quite likely to be the upcoming Fire TV Cube, combining the Fire TV with the company’s Alexa-powered Echo speakers in a single device.
The device is expected to be equipped with far-field microphones characteristic of the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot and offer voice-command integrations characteristic of the Fire TV without necessitating a second device.
While the company is yet to reveal the device’s specs, price, or launch date, a teaser on the website makes it apparent that official reveals may be expected soon.
