Flyme is the Chinese smartphone maker Meizu’s operating system, just like iOS is for iPhones. Flyme apparently is all set to get a new update this month. It has been officially announced that the Meizu update, Flyme 8 will be launched on 13th August in China.
The news of the release of the Meizu update is unexpected. Before the official statement was released, it was believed that Meizu Flyme 8 will be available in the fourth quarter of this year. According to the previous report which came out last month, Flyme 8 was supposed to be launched somewhere between October and December.
The previous reports informed that Meizu was working on internal testing of the Flyme 8 user interface in the second quarter of this year, and the entire testing was supposed to conclude sometime in the third quarter.
However, as per the latest official statement, it looks like they are done with the testing, and all set for the launch to take place on 13th August 2019. Earlier this year, Meizu’s product manager Chen Jiaxuan shared the poster for the Flyme 8 user interface.
The poster revealed all the new updates that are part of Meizu Flyme 8. What the poster specifically showcased is that the company is focused on making the UI fast and stable.
However, many features of the Flyme 8 are the same as the ones available in the Flyme 7.3. To know how much Meizu can deliver their promise of making the UI fast and stable, we would have to wait for the update to come out.
The current version, Flyme 7.3 is able to integrate the Meizu Pay app with the Flyme system for touchless payments experience using the bank, bus, and other access cards. It also features apps like Shutdown Wake 3.0, Smart Free 3.0, Resource Manager 2.0, Memory compression 2.0. These apps have been optimized for better performance.
