Galaxy Active Watch 2 with Number Sync and Data issues following recent updates

Despite its brilliant discovery of a new, AI-assisted workout watch that is handy when out on the run, it seems that Samsung Galaxy’s recent application update has not been quite beneficial for the users. An update comes in order to fix bug issues but brings along with it a number of additional problems as well.

After its latest update to version R820XXU1BTA1, two months earlier, the Galaxy Active Watch forum is now witnessing a pile of complaints from customers based on number sync and data issues. Unlike many other basic workout watches, Galaxy Active watch two specifies in its number sync facility that enables users to incorporate contacts on the watch and make easy calls, receive texts so on and so forth. Speaking on the number-sync issues a customer writes:

Ever since the update on July 26th, I am having issues with getting number sync to connect and play music through Spotify through the LTE. It worked great up until yesterday and now it’s pretty much a Bluetooth watch that can call and text from its own number. Is this happening to anyone else? Because this watch has constantly seemed to be having issues with its features it seems.

This is not the only complainer. A number of other customers have commented on how an automated ‘Mobile Network not available’ message pops up every time the number-sync is enabled.

Data issues are also of concern post this recent update. A user named Asteroid mentions,

On my watch, post-update, I only have issues with Mobile (Cellular) Data. When I was on the phone with the AT&T rep for a few hours, I explained that if I turned off BlueTooth and Wifi on the watch, I could place a call from my watch using the watch phone number. I could also send/receive SMS (text) messages from the watch phone number, however, if a picture message was sent to my watch number, I’d get a message on the watch that told me I needed to download the message. Downloading would fail because there was no cellular data, so MMS would not download the message contents (but you could tell you got something). If I tried to open something that needed a connection, like the Galaxy Store, it would throw a message that there was no data connection. If I tried to setup NumberSync, it would also throw the Mobile Network Unavailable error. I’m only throwing this out there because I tested these, and phone / SMS were working before. MMS was not working, nor was mobile data. Hope this helps, and hope we have a solution soon.

There has been no response on behalf of the team Galaxy yet. However, it is important to notice that these basic issues need to be resolved as early as possible. Already numerous complaints have crept up on the public support page. Many are awaiting further updates for fixing it. Hopefully, Galaxy will look into the matter and bring solutions to it soon.
