The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance series on Netflix anticipates the classic The Crystal Enchanted, of Jim Henson (The Muppets), won a number of new actors confirmed the voice cast. According to The Wrap, Sigourney Weaver (Alien), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Benedict Wong (Avengers: Endgame), Awkwafina (Rotten Rich), Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) andDave Goelz (The Enchanted Crystal) entered the Netflix series.
In the plot of The Enchanted Crystal, after a magical jewel has shattered thousands of years on the planet Thra, its masters also split between two races, the peaceful mystics, and the aggressive Skeksis, who begin to use a “black crystal” to play forever. A prophecy says that if a gelfling (humane creatures with pointed ears and pronounced faces) manipulate the crystal, peace will be restored and the two races will come together into one. On account of it, the Skeksis hunt all gelflings.
The main cast consists of Taron Egerton (Kingsman) as Rian, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Brea and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) as Deet.
The Gelflings will be dubbed by Caitriona Balfe ( Outlander ), Natalie Dormer ( Game of Thrones ), Helena Bonham-Carter, Harris Dickinson, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu MBatha-Raw ( Black Mirror ), Mark Strong ( Shazam! ) And Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider).
Skelton and Mystic will be dubbed by Mark Hamill ( Star Wars ), Andy Samberg ( Brooklyn Nine-Nine ), Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs ( Star Trek: Discovery ), Keegan-Michael Key ( Predator ), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Simon Pegg. The director of The Incredible Hulk and Fury of Titans, Louis Leterrier, produces and directs the series, which will be a prelude set some years before the original.
Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews and Javier Grillo-Marxuach lead the writing team. The Enchanted Crystal is a landmark in fantasy cinema because the entire cast consists of animatronic creatures and dolls, and this will be retained in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The premiere of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is scheduled for August 30th.
