Highlights

  • GeForce RTX 50 Series Powered by NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, designed for superior performance.
  • Equipped with 5th-gen Tensor Cores and 4th-gen Ray Tracing Cores for incredible AI and graphics capabilities.
  • Features DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for significantly improved frame rates and visual quality.
  • Includes various models like RTX 5090 ($1,999), RTX 5080 ($999), and mid-range RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti ($549-$649).

The new GeForce RTX 50 Series, powered by NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture aims to be “the ultimate platform for gamers and creators”. The RTX 50 series is created specifically for gamers and professionals who take the quality of their tools very seriously. Equipped with 5th-gen Tensor Cores and fourth-generation Ray Tracing Cores, it enables the user’s gaming setup to reach unprecedented levels of AI performance and graphic fidelity.

Specifications

One of the first things to note is the NVIDIA DLSS 4 with multi-frame Generation, which uses AI to boost the frame rates, reduce latency, and improve quality, overhauling and providing the best visual output money can buy. The DLSS 4 also introduces Multi Frame Generation, which can multiply the frame per second (fps) by up to eight times the traditional rendering capabilities.

The aforementioned Tensor 5th gen cores are also designed to boost AI performance, enabling faster and more efficient processing for AI-driven tasks. Put that with the Fourth-Generation Ray Tracing Cores, which brings improved ray tracing capabilities, it can ensure more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflection in the game. The RTX 50 Series also comes with GDDR7 memory that helps move data much quicker making games run smoothly, it also comes with the benefit of running on much less electricity, keeping the computer less cool in the process.

Models and Pricing

The RTX 50 series comes in several models, with the RTX 5090 priced at $1,999 providing the top tier performance meant for enthusiasts or professionals in the field. The RTX 5080, priced at half that of the RTX 5090 stands at  $999 and still promises an excellent performance for high-end gaming and content creation. The RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti are what we would consider as the budget-friendly mid-range models expected to be priced at around $549 and $649 respectively, thus offering performance close to the RTX 4090 on a lower price point.

Conclusion

The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 models are set to be released on January 30th this year, with the preorders for the same being available on the release date. The RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti models will follow shortly in February 2025. Overall the RTX 5090 is a big reveal for Nvdia who needs a win after the disastrous drop in stock after the rise of increased competition from DeepSeek. Thus, it is of utmost importance for NVIDIA to first restore market confidence in its products and look for significant revenue growth, as one of the top tech companies of the world.
