The announcement was made on the official Twitter account, which included various details regarding new features, existing events, updates, and the version 2.7 live stream release date schedule.
Although this update was supposed to be delivered in the previous month, the team could not complete it due to COVID lockdowns in China. Players have been waiting for an update announcement since the apology post from Hoyoverse. Furthermore, according to recent leaks from well-known leakers, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu may appear on a future Genshin Impact banner as part of the 2.7 release.

The version 2.7 update maintenance is scheduled to begin at 06:00 (UTC+8) on May 31, 2022. The maintenance will most likely last 5 hours and will take effect throughout June for 6 weeks. On July 13, 2022, Version 2.8 is expected to be released.
On 05/31/2022 05:59 (UTC+8), the ongoing Character Event Wish, Weapon Event Wish, and “Test Run” events will come to an end. On the Wish screen and the Events Overview tab, the countdown period would be modified as well, while the finish timings of other in-game events have not changed.
After the Version 2.7 update maintenance is completed, the Placement Function in the Serenitea Pot will be terminated. Gamers can then use this Placement Function to continue their journey.
