Since the inception of the new calendar year, tech enthusiasts around the world have been anticipating another edition of the most influential tech event in the world – the CES. It is an avenue where the world’s biggest brands do business and meet new partners for breaking through technologies and global innovators. This year’s event is expected to commence in the next few days in Las Vegas.
However, ahead of the world’s biggest tech event, the German bionics company, German Bionics, has unveiled a new exoskeleton equipment named Apogee, which can offset a 30kg load. At the same time, it also uncovered Smart SafetyVest, which can monitor users and remind them to follow ergonomics.
German Bionic’s Apogee and Smart SafetyVest
According to German Bionics, the Apogee is the company’s newest and lightest power suit for commercial and industrial use, while the Smart SafetyVest will provide ergonomic monitoring and protection for every worker.
At the same time, Apogee is German Bionic’s lightest exoskeleton to date, offsetting up to around 30 kg of pressure on the user’s lower back every lift and offering active walking aid to lessen fatigue. It was developed using insights learnt from creating the Cray X.
Although it won’t help the wearer carry anything, the Smart SafetyVest will track their motions and posture while they work and offer data-based, individualized ergonomic insights, evaluations, and suggestions.
To gather, monitor, analyze, and report user ergonomic data, it is recognized that both Apogee and SafetyVest rely on German Bionic’s bionic IO architecture. Additionally, when users actively do risky activities, they will employ the onboard display and sound. Issue a warning.
Norma Steller, CPO of German Bionic, said in a press release that hardworking individuals now have the tools they need to do their duties more sustainably and safely with the help of the new wearable technology.
“Our new wearable devices give hardworking people the tools they need to do their jobs more safely and sustainably. The company or work environment in which they work. With the Bionic IO data platform, we also provide powerful analytical tools for workplace ergonomics and processes.”
