The major release date announcement for God of War Ragnarok has now been postponed after speculation claimed it would occur on June 30. However, it has not been extended until 2023, as Cory Barlog clarified in a follow-up message to the fans. They were expecting that at least there could be some sort of game-related announcement in the works.
In June of last year, a 2022 release date for Ragnarok was announced, but no official release date has been announced as of yet. Following reports from Bloomberg that stated God of War Ragnarok might arrive in November this year, there have been speculations over the last week that God of War Ragnarok would receive some sort of announcement by the end of June month.
The God of War director Cory Barlog has urged players to keep patience and refuted rumors that God of War Ragnarok’s launch date will be revealed soon. Furthermore, he also said that the game’s anticipated 2022 release date has not been postponed. Having said that, God of War’s marketing campaign was incredibly brief, with the exception of a few E3 presentations in the years leading up to its release.
The God of War Ragnarok shop page was updated yesterday, according to PlayStation Game Size, a renowned data miner. He claimed that this alteration could have something to do with the pre-order. Fans appear to be particularly keen to know the game’s specific release date. The game is still anticipated to be launched in November even if the reveal date announcement has been postponed.
Further, a person on Twitter claimed that the release date announcement will happen today, but Barlog responded, “No.” Again a follower’s tweet was replied by him that Sony and the creator Santa Monica Studio just weren’t prepared to make the news. These statements support a June report that the game will still be scheduled for late 2022.
