What known as the parent company of Google; Alphabet today announced its decision on investing more than the US $1 billion to establish a new campus in New York City. It is hoped that the extension to a different campus would make the company one of the city’s largest commercial tenants making them add thousands of jobs in the next years.
Well, space has been acquired by Google through lease agreements and plans to move into the two buildings by 2020, which is over 1.7 million-square-foot, will be the primary location for Google’s global business organization the company said.
Google’s new campus, which is hoped to be starting in 2020, will be known as Google Hudson Square and “will be the primary location for our New York-based Global Business Organization,” Porat wrote. The company at present employs some 7,000 people in New York.
Expanding one’s establishment to a different campus is not the first time that we have come across. Earlier Apple has said that it would invest $1 billion to build a second campus in Austin, Texas, housing up to 15,000 workers as part of a broader push by U.S. companies to create more domestic jobs.
Today’s announcement had come on the heels making it clear that the big technology companies are looking forward to spreading their wings to fly really high.
