The Google I/O 2018 was announced this Wednesday, to be taking place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. It will start on May 8th and go on up to May 10th, 2018. It is indeed one of the most anticipated technology events of the year.

Like the previous years, plenty of big announcements are expected to be made at Google I/O 2018. Among the speculated releases, the next-generation Android software is being talked about the most. It’ll be the first occasion for the latest version to be revealed. However, the users aren’t going to get their hands on the latest Android P anytime soon.

Currently, there are 2 versions of Android Oreo are available, Android 8.0 and Android 8.1. According to Google’s database, updated on the first week of January, these two versions, in spite of being released back in August last year, occupy only 0.7% of active Android devices. On the other hand, the 5-month-old Android Oreo software is running on 1% of Android devices. New devices running on Android Nougat, released 2 years ago, are being launched every now and then.

This Wednesday morning, a series of puzzles hinting about its upcoming developer conference was released by Google on their website. The puzzles were very easy. All it revealed was the venue and duration of the upcoming Google I/O 2018. There was a photo among the clues as well.

The pineapple upside down cake in the picture apparently hints the Android P update.

The Google I/O 2018 is, of course, a great opportunity to check out the new features that are going to be included in the 2018 Android update, Android P. It is expected to get a mass release by 2020.
