Haven’t yet dispatched from the imagination but are we seeing something outlandish or new fad? Have you ever imagined a Brobdingnagian physical keyboard extending until the end of the long row? You might have seen a plethora of keyboards. Distinctive design, RGB keyboards, different brands, animated keyboards the list goes up. But, the newly announced keyboards would be the weirdest thing you will ever see. Recently, Google Japan announced Gboard Bar, a massive physical keyboard.

It is on board an exquisite thing, that its marshaling is actually from left to right, a gigantic row of keyboard design. The Gboard bar keyboard is 1650mm long, or just under 65 inches. Google Japan said that these new keyboards have many features, starting with the most pivotal: they can help users press the keys they wish to perform away faster than before. Also, it occupies only a small amount of desktop space and can be dropped down on your desk to do some extra work.

Gboard Bar Design

Reportedly the company got this idea. Over the years, many people have focused on the “Key” in the word “keyboard” and never really got into it. In Japanese, the word keyboard translates as キーボード(kii-bou-do), so since キー(kii (key)) got so much attention, it decided to focus on the ボー(bou) part, which itself translates, For the bow (rod/rod). Taking advantage of this, new design ideas emerged that improved navigation compared to traditional keyboards by placing all the keys in a straight line.

According to the company, this minimizes the need to look in all directions like a traditional keyboard. Users can start from scratch and just look at each keystroke until they find what they’re looking for. To make this even more worthy, Google says that the new keyboards can also put you in a healthier radius. Users can stretch their arms to hit the keyboard button physically.

You might have forgotten to stretch your limbs as you evolve in the modern era. With the new Gboard bar, you could see the future yourself. It doesn’t seem Google makes some actual jokes about the features of the keyboards. The company explains how it can be used as a hiking buttress or a ruler for measuring objects. Even you could measure the heights of kids roaming through the streets.

As this product differs from others, Google says it has no plans to mass produce the keyboards. Still, Google Japan has created a dedicated GitHub page and uploaded all the data files for users to understand the keyboards and make their own.
